Where is the variable speed outlet on Fusion?

I am running a Octopus Varios-2 as my return pump so I ordered a Gyre cable to try and use the Apex to be able to control the variable speed of the pump. My question is where do I find the variable speed outlet on Fusion? Right now when I plug the Gyre cable from the Varios-2 controller to the Apex the pump just turns off.

Go to the outlet icon and they will be the ones that say baseVar in the device field.

Another way is on the Outputs page, you should have 4 outputs of Type Variable. 1 & 2 correspond to the left variable speed port, 3 & 4 the right. You take the tile for whichever one you're using for the pump out of the hidden tiles area.

Which cable are you using? For the VarioS pumps, you only want one of the var speed outputs connected, so it has to be the split Y cable, not the one I think of as the Gyre cable (both channels together).

Now that I look at my Apex had unit I see I do not have the variable outlets and what I plugged into was the Ethernet.

If you have an EL you're right, the variable speed ports were omitted to reduce cost. To add them you'd need a VDM module.
