I have the Apex controller system, i am thinking about getting a EB4 Energy Bar 4 to plug my tank heater into so that it is not on my battery backup. I have a server UPS on my system but when the Heater kicks in it maxes the UPS load alarm start to beep and flash. That is why I am going to get the EB4 Energy Bar 4 and plug it in the normal wall voltage.
Now When the power goes out, i want certain parts of my system to go into a lower settings so that it will not drain the UPS faster in case I am gone on vacation, but also send me a power failure alert. It was suggested to me to get a 12v power supply to plug into the Apex system and then regular wall outlet so that if the power does fail it will alert me. BUT wouldn't the EB4 Energy Bar 4 do that same thing? I plan on plugging that into a wall outlet.
Just to verify, I should be able to plug the usb cable from an older apex power bar into the newer system and it should work? Right? or do I really need to get another newer Apex power bar?
I hope that I explained that well enough.
Thanks in advanced.
Chad.
