conductivity probe value shows different than what is shown

    Hi,
I replaced my conductivity probe back in 7/11/18 due to the previous one stop measuring the salinity level. I had the original one for about 3 - 4 years.

When I received a new probe, I perform the calibration for salt water and adjusted my programming to the setting as reported. It has always reported values of around 10.5 for 1.025 SG.

When the value of the SG falls below 1.020, it reports values in the 90's. Recently it reported 95.5 for 1.019 SG. Now that I have restored the SG to 1.0.25, the app and Apex Fusion reports 10.8.

When I set an alarm for Cond > 95.0, the e-mail alarm is triggered, which I don't think it should, since I'm seeing 10.8. So I'm suspecting the actual value is 105.8. I say this because when I set a rule for Cond < 11.0, I do not get an alarm, but the value is 10.8. So I should get an alarm.

Here's my current log for 2/4:
    Item Date Status Statement
    1 2019-02-04 10:39:09 -0800 ON If Cond > 96.0 Then ON (10.8)
    2 2019-02-04 10:42:40 -0800 OFF Set OFF
    3 2019-02-04 10:43:21 -0800 ON If Cond > 99.9 Then ON (10.8)
    4 2019-02-04 10:45:16 -0800 OFF Set OFF

Is the probe malfunctioning? Looking for suggestions to fix the issue.

    Jim

Sounds like you didn't push the jack in all the way and then calibrated with the same settling value for both steps. Recalibrate the probe. It should read about 33 ppt for 1.025 SG.

I'll check the jack when I get home, but have tried to reseat it and did hear the clip click. My last probe read 33 ppt before.

    Thanks

There is no clip for the cond probe. You should not hear any clicks.

you are correct.. I was thinking about the temp probe. Will check the connection and recalibrate.
