    Tunze 6055 and VDM Program

I recently went through the steps to create profiles in order to control my powerhead as stated in an older thread

    https://forum.neptunesystems.com/sho...5-Wave-Program

After creating a Day and Night profile, connecting the VDM to Tunze cable and adjusting the percentages, I’m not able to get the powerhead to turn on. The Varspd box shows it at 30% but the outlet shows it as not running. Can I get some assistance with this, please?

Your screenshots are chopped off and you didn't include the Tunze_6055 programming in your screenshots. I am also unclear as to how you have the EB outlet connected and programmed.

The first step would be for you to turn the EB outlet manually ON and turn the varspd outlet manually ON to verify you have everything connected proper before doing any programming.

Ok, sorry about the chopped screenshots. Let’s try this.

    The programming for the powerhead

I set both to on but my daughter says the powerhead is off, I’m not home at the moment.

I’m not sure if I missed anything. I’m used to running WAVs and MP40s with the Apex. I thought I’d try something smaller for this RS 170.

I am assuming the 6055 named output is the EB outlet? If so, that should be fallback ON Set ON and nothing else. Any feed statements or whatnot should go in the varspd outlet.

Was your test of manual ON and OFF sucessful for the tunze?

Yes, the EB outlet was named 6055. Set those to ON.

Placed both switches to ON and I was told the powerhead is on now.

Do they get placed on AUTO now or just the 6055?

Yes after you change the EB code to always ON. Manual ON was just to verify everything was hooked up right.

Alright. I came home and set both switches to AUTO and it doesn’t run anymore. It will when I select them both to ON.

You have nothing in the EB outlet program to turn the power on to the pump. Add ‘Set ON’ as the line after the Fallback ON line.

Also, your profile timings are unusual. At what interval in seconds do you want the pump cycling between off and the configured speed?
Please do not send me PMs with technical questions or requesting assistance - use the forums for Apex help. PM me ONLY if the matter is of a private or personal nature. Thanks.

Russ, this is what the EB outlet looks like now.

It won’t run in AUTO, just ON

As far as intervals in seconds, I’m not sure to tell you the truth. This is for an anemone tank which is why I went with the VDM, in order to ramp down the speed. I’m open to suggestions.

What do both outlets say when they are in AUTO?

Assuming the EB code is the same as post 9 and the varspd code is the same as post 1, it should say ON for the 6055 and either 30, 40, or 65 for the varspd. Something has changed since then or you forgot to hit upload on the energy bar outlet.

Ok, here is what it looks like. I think in the other screenshot it hadn’t reset yet.

As far as the rest of the programming, it’s as you’ve stated.

    Tunze 6055 and VDM Program

Could it be something with the times or settings on the profiles?

One other observation: When I switched the split VDM to Tunze cable to the other plug, it would turn on for a brief second, stay still and try again maybe 15 seconds later. When I went back to the original plug, the powerhead would stay on. This is with both switches being in the ON position, not AUTO.

That is making me think you might have a bent pin or something.

Ok, it’s working. I switched the VDM to Tunze cable to the next port and now it is pulsing.

I’m sure that there’s some sort of technical explanation for this but I’m just glad that it works now. Russ and Zombie, thanks for all the help again.

My vote is on a bent pin.
