UV lamp keeps tripping on EB8, but not when it's plugged into the wall GFCI

    Does anyone have any ideas?

I am trying to plug in the UV lamp into EB8 so that if the pump stop working then UV lamp turns off. The UV lamp works perfectly fine if I plug it into the wall outlet. But it trips if I plug it onto EB8 regardless if the pump is plugged into EB8 or not.

I'm slightly confused. What exactly is tripping?

The whole EB8 trips when UV lamp is connected.

Then you probably overloaded your energy bar. What does the amps read before plugging in the UV?

    I doubt it.

    It reads 2.9.

Thanks Zombie. I got it to work. There was something wrong with the electrical part of hooking up the UV lamp.

This is interesting. I have a new UV unit that keeps tripping my GFCI. I have no idea what it could be. All of my electrical components are dry and it works fine when it's plugged into a non-GFCI protected outlet. Unfortunately (Of course, on purpose), my EB is plugged into a GFCI outlet and I'm not willing to compromise there.

I had a wire connector and apparently I stripped the wire a bit too far and it was leaking from there. My EB is also plugged into a GFCI, and so was the wall outlet and we plug the UV lamp into to test. I think what happened was that because I stripped it just a tiny bit too much and the way the wire stretch to EB was different than to the wall GFCI. So the exposed wire was touching/ too close to the next wire when it is on EB and making it trip.

Thanks for the explanation. I was hoping that might be what's happening in my case, but all of my wiring is fine and there is nothing exposed at all. I have a case opened with Pentair on the issue.
