I've got my apex programmed to shut off power heads and the return pump for auto and manual feeding. This happens three times a day. Because I can't control the speed of the Ecotech Vectra, I simply turn it off. Lately I've been getting faults on the Vetra driver when power is restored. The lights blink red & yellow and the pump doesn't run. I contacted Ecotech and was promptly told that "the pump is not designed to turn on & off that frequently."
How do you operate feed mode so that your fish food doesn't just go down the overflow? Do you shut your pump off?
Have any of you run into a problem like this? If so how did you fix it. BTW, I soaked the pump in vinegar, disassembled it and cleaned it 2 weeks ago. Contrary to what Ecotech thinks, that's not my problem. Would appreciate any input and experiences.
I'm getting close to buying a replacement pump and based on Ecotech's response, I think it'l be another brand.
