This AOS release contains:

  • Updated APEX Local content; this has behind-the-scenes software updates; you should not see any visible differences
  • Updated Wi-Fi driver
  • Updated Trident module firmware to version 22
  • Changes the way Apexes communicate with APEX Fusion

About the new Trident firmware:

The new Trident firmware has no effect on existing Tridents; it has support for new production Tridents which have a necessary hardware change which required corresponding changes in Trident module firmware.
After updating to this AOS, please update your Trident too so you do not get notified about outdated module firmware.

About the change in the way Apexes communicate with APEX Fusion

The change in how Apexes communicate with Fusion corresponds with enhancements which have been already been made to the Fusion architecture and to support upcoming system changes. These enhancements permit increases in scalability, resiliency, and performance of the Fusion cloud. These changes have been thoroughly and successfully tested both internally, and externally by Neptune Systems Insiders. However, in an abundance of caution, rollout of this new AOS will be done slowly, in phases. Only a small number of Apexes will be initially able to be updated to this new AOS; the number of eligible Apexes will be expanded every 1-2 days.

Every Apex checks for a new AOS version daily, and shortly after a restart. You will not be able to force your Apex to get the update by restarting like you could do with prior AOS releases. Please just wait until you are informed by APEX Fusion that the new AOS is available to be installed on your Apex.
