    Show off your tank!

@gdpno, you're talking me into getting a Jewfish!

@aquamanic & @iamchadster, the machine shop next door to my LFS makes them. You can buy one with off-the-shelf arm, in my case mine is the shortest arm. I can raise the tube 24" higher than it is currently as well.

If you need your light placement exact, and their off-shelf tubes won't quite get it where you want it, contact them. They will make you something custom length. Provide them your tank dims, tell them where exactly you want the center of the light to be, and they will create.

Very nice design. Clean - I like how you can hide the wires. I wish Kessil had thought through their goosneck a little more regarding wires.

Yes, I built the stand, sump, bio pellet reactor, wire troth, and housing for controls. I made stand so 3 sides were all open to have easy access, and recessed the tank (Deep Blue 60gal frag Reef ready) so the rim was hidden. The sump is a design I made to be slow flow, and have a built in refugium and ato. IMAG0807.jpgIMAG0808.jpgIMAG0809.jpg

    Hi Guys,

The wife finally gave in and agreed to let me upgrade tanks. I decided to go with a DSA 105 Rimless that arrives Friday. The 75 has done me well but I really like the rimless look. Will post some pics this weekend. Getting inspired by some of the previous posts. Thanks!

Thanks for the nice comment! 3rd week of cycle, so hopefully she'll be looking pretty before too long. Here's a shot from last night; I turned the 3rd stone on it's belly so it would lay lower. I don't know I think I kinda like it.

Here is my 150, started it in 2011. Has 265 lbs live rock, Finally just went with 2 Radions with the wide angle TIR lenses, a CO2 Calcium Reactor, and added the Neptune Apex system, with feeder, Lunar Module with 5 LED strand, which I have found the tank loves on the Lunar schedule.

Hope to move up to a 300 gallon project late this year.

how high ofF your water level are your radions? I am planning 10" unless someone has had experience at a better height.

I have them at 8" off the water, seem to be the best to push to the bottom with the TIR wide angle lenses,
I just switch to the Radion Pros from an AquaticLife 6 bulb T5 HO unit, and I have had more growth in 2 weeks then I have had in 2 months.

I have to be a safety nut, but do you really think that it is safe to put power supplies propped up against a wall on the rim of an uncovered tank? Those should really be mounted on your stand. Or at least screwed into the wall.

They are set temporary, they are Velcroed to the wall, but I have been completely redoing everything underneath, and there is a closet on the other side that I am running power to to move them and some other items that I want to keep from water/salt creep

Ok. Youre probably fine then. It wouldnt hurt to set a screw in just in case if you dont mind a tiny hole in your wall that you will have to patch.

Tanks been running for about 14 months now and doing great.
