Week old Apex, ORP hasn't moved off 299 since startup

Hello all, I setup my apex gold exactly a week ago today and am still getting the same reading from my ORP probe as I was the day I plugged it in. I'm aware of the break in period, but now it's been a full week and I haven't seen it change once, so I figured I'd start asking questions to see if something is wrong. What should I do here? Thanks guys

Put the probe in a cup of RO water and see if it changes.

Ok, I'll be back with the results in a few minutes. I unplugged the probe from the base unit and it didn't change. I left it unplugged for a while. Does that mean anything? Regardless I'll throw it in some RO water and see if anything changes in a few minites

Ok, the probe has been sitting in RO water for a 3 minutes now. It immediatly dropped down to 298 when I placed it in the cup of RO water but just went back up to 299 as I'm writing this post.

This is one of Neptune's probes?

You're sure you've got it in the combo pH/ORP port and that you've disabled pH2 and enabled ORP?

Yeah. It all came with the Apex gold unit and I'm certain that I have the blue probe plugged into pH and red probe plugged into PH/ORP on the base unit and that I've got pH2 disabled and ORP enabled.

The only other thing I can think of trying is to measure the ORP of some soda (Coke, Sprite, whatever) - your ORP should jump up to 400 or so. You can also try Green Tea (not sure about regular tea) and it should drop down.

If those tests fail then it's time to contact support. I'd suspect your probe. But try the soda test first.

Also, make sure the connection is solid and that the ground (outside of bnc connector) is not touching the pH probes ground.

and zombie had a good point - those BNC connectors are tight together on the controller. Sometimes the washers will touch leading to a ground loop.
